And I am NOT a lawyer- but what I little I knew of CA law on ammo dealt with handgun ammo, and I think THAT got thrown out by a judge a year ago.

The handgun ammo restriction was thrown out because the description is ambiguous since many manufacturers make rifles that shoot "handgun" calibers and handguns that shoot rifle calibers.
