possible shooter at Texas A&M

Texas A&M University under lock down because of an armed man seen by a bus driver. Knowing the mentality of the typical Aggie, there will be 10,000 armed students hunting the guy down.

I am an Aggie, and on campus right now. Reports said man was carrying an AK-47. More than likely it was a member of the Corps of Cadets (similar to ROTC), but havent heard anything in a while. Some of the building are locked down, nobody in or out. The building I am in is locked down.

We are all clear. The man was detained by police, and was carrying a replica weapon. Police said it was an all plastic M-16 training rifle. More than likely a member of the Corps of Cadets, nothing more has been said yet. The story will likely change 37 times before they get it right.

jeezus, first Austin and now College Station. WTF is going on?

A&M officials stated the man detained is a student, but is not a member of the Corps of Cadets. Not sure what would be going through his head to carry a M-16 replica across campus during the time of day with the most traffic. He is really lucky he didnt get his head blown off by the snipers positioned all over campus.

The thing is, even if it was a real gun, he would not have done anything wrong. It is perfectly legal to carry a gun on campus, whether its concealed (with CHL, of course), or open carry. It is only illegal if you enter a building on campus.

Thanks for the input. The comment was rhetorical, made in general about shootings on college campuses, both in Texas within a short period of time. jeezus
