We need law enforcement. People today have a hard time policing themselves.

Position 2

Cops face less danger than the general public and special rights for Cops violates "Equal Protection" under the law.

Partial Position 3... Immediately defund and dismiss every officer not currently working for and under the Constitutional authority of a County Sherrif.

Sherrifs offices would need to expand so the State and City Cops worth keeping could transfer there services to fall beneath the Jurisdiction of the only accountable Top Cops in the Nation.

In Merry old England in the 19th century a board showed where the officer was at any time. Police were called Constables. If an officer was walking his beat the board was marked C.O.P. after his name. Constable on Patrol.
We do not want our police disarmed. The American civil police are uniquely American. In other nations the police are Federal enforcing local laws. The American Police are a product of local militia answering to the local elected governments. This with all its faults is a very good system of enforcement.

I disagree. I think it does more harm than good. War on drugs. Lack of prosecution of violent criminals. Need I say more?

You're right, look at all the cases of racism and police brutality within police forces, they definitely need to be trimmed down.

So, you are pinning things on the police that other people are responsible for?

The "war on drugs" has been going on since the early 20th century, but it was Eisenhower's administration that defined the parameters - the police didn't start it...

Last I checked, police are not authorized to prosecute anyone. That would be up to the District Attorney/State/County Prosecutor.

However, I do agree with the overall sentiment that police should be restricted to whatever means the civilian population is. I also feel it should also be applied to federal law enforcement as well.

If I'm not mistaken in the second amendment it states that we have the right to bare arms against foreign invaders or STATE... translation ... we are permitted to have weaponry that could stand agisnt a states possible aggression.

Be very careful in your condemnation of local police. The World Socialist movement dating to Karl Marx has encouraged the disbanding of local police forces.
In every nation where the Communist movement has prevailed the local police and citizens were disarmed. The nation is then controlled by one central government and Federal police only.
Blaming local police for a law that you do not like really requires more thought and study.
