As an adult I would deal with it alright, but I couldn't imagine dealing with that as a teen.

The flip side of that is how bad would he feel if he survived and his siblings didn't.

Either way the kid might have some mental issues. His parents better keep a close eye on him.

Yes, some mental support would be a good thing for the lad....as in re-enforcing that he did the correct thing...he made the correct choice, or even the ONLY choice he could have under the circumstances.

I honestly think if i killed a attacker, robber, mugger, etc. i would be fine with it maybe even a little happy i did so because i know i did the right thing and i know that i saved people around me and myself i would be comforted by the fact he wont kill/harm anyone else. just my opinion in no way is it ok to kill but i dont think i would feel that bad.

In Kalifornia, the Parents would get in trouble for kid having access to the firearm.

Part of training kids on handling themselves in a situation where deadly force might be necessary is teaching them that scumbags who break into your home are less than human. My hope is that if (God forbid) my kids are presented with a situation like this they will lose no more sleep over having to shoot the bastard than if he was a coyote.

That is a fine young man that did what he did. I'm betting that when he gets back to school next school year (that is if he isn't home schooled- and its likely he is) that he won't be getting bullied!
