Turns out its only an "assault rifle" when a civilian owns it. When it's select fire and in their hands its a "personal defense weapon". Interesting double standard they are dancing on.

To be fair. Idk what weapons they are trying to purchase. But a PDW is a thing. Seperate from regular combat rifles.

As a matter of fact, I don't think any PDW's are legal for ownership by the average citizen anyway. I don't think they existed when FOPA happened.

Note, I do not agree with FOPA. But it is what it is, unfortunately.
