ok im in need of some smart peoples help lol... ive bought a few of my own firearms in oregon and know its quick 30min tops now i have a friends and ive was told by his mom he tryed to get a handgun(lives in oregon) now from what ive heard is he filled the background paper work out and didnt give his SSN i know this can slow it down he then payed for it and left w/o the firearm after a few weeks i think he got it and from what ive been told is the gunshop said after a week or 2 i dont know 100% but after said week(s) as it took so long they have to give it to him by law w/o the background check going thru is there any truth in this? sorry for the block of text but i dont realy care about you grammar nazis

I guarantee you the background check was completed with a phone call to the State Police.
Not sure about the time period, must deliver the weapon thing. But, any reputable gun shop that wants to stay in business follows the law to the letter.
