The Democrats will do anything to avoid discussing the real problems? The economy is a wreck, Obama care will cost families $1,000s of dollars in fines starting in 2014. More people on food stamps free guns to Mexico dead diplomats. Obama has a train wreck coming that will make Casey Jones wreck of the old 97 look like a minor fender bender.

i called senator Coburn's office late last week. Was told the senator is totally opposed to universal background checks. Senator Coburn wants to tighten up the NICS Improvement Act to stop adjudicated nutcases from obtaining firearms from gun dealers.

Im for getting info about nutballs into the nics system so they cant get guns.

Im also for opening the nics system so private non-ffl folks can utilize it if they wish to confirm what someone is telling them is true.

Jon, you're spot on.For years I had a table at local gun shows. There were folks that I refused to sell a gun to. I started wondering if some that weren't obvious shouldn't buy one either.

The last straw for me was a show where a nicely dressed, average looking young man offered to sell me a "like new" model 29 in the walnut case for $250.

I told him that I would buy it as long as he was aware that he was selling it at half of dealer cost. He was okay with that. I picked up the weapon and went to the pay telephone to have the department run NCIC on the serial number. the young man bolted out of the door, neverr to be seen again.

The police dept was able to track down the person the weapon had been stolen from and return it.

I haven't had a table at a gun show since.

I am not aware of a majority of republicans supporting a federal gun control bill since the 1930s.

This post has been long overdue.

I will add the Republicans haven't done diddly for the Conservative cause in 50 years.

Lest we forget it was Reagan that signed the 86 GCA. The guy that most conservatives look back fondly at sold gun owners down a long, rough river.
