Default NY exempts ex-LEOs from magazine limit

New legislation allows ex-LEOs to carry more ammo than a regular citizen.

That is crap.

"Tyranny is defined as that which is legal for the government but illegal for the citizenry." --Thomas Jefferson
"A free people ought not only be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government." --George Washington

Very sorry thing but expected from the corrupt state of NY. Yep, it makes for a superior class of citizen.

They can thank the Albany LEO Union for that one. They raised holy hell when they realized they were gonna become crooks if they didnt dump their Private owned weapons.

Guess who didnt get the exemption? People like me who served Honorably in the NY Army National Guard for 17 of my 21 years of service! It was AOK for me to lead an Anti Armor Platoon with 8 heavy weapons systems, and 16 Light Machine guns but I cant have a mag that holds more than 10 bullets or an AR?

The NYARNG cant unionize, we have no voice as a group and never will. Andy listens to his Unions closely and they deliver the votes and support he needs. Anything he can do to water down the outrage over his recent conquests only goes to empower him further. This just became a police state, they now have rights we cannot have ourselves!

Looks like more fodder for the court cases that are bound to be coming.

Unbelievable. But honestly not entirely unexpected.

And folks here wonder why regular people dont always feel warm and fuzzy about special folk status? The further they go to prove were not all equal, the larger the wedge will become between us with special classes being the hammer that drives it. NY LEOs wont be standing beside us in support of our 2A rights, they already had theirs re-affirmed. Instead they are now squarely in the Governors corner and will only be acting as his eyes and ears against us FOOG.

Rich folks hire armed guards, our Republicrats are endowed with them already, LEO's now have the right to SD off duty or after they retire with their choice of weapon yet the rest of us are only armed with three numbers, 911 + a prayer! This was a missed opportunity for us all to stand as one but the Unionizers as usual really only care about their Dues paying Membership, shocking isnt it?

Glad for them, sad for us; in the end, it wont do any favors for anyone as a whole, it will only go to divide us further. Just think what a day at the range looks like in NY, LEOS with choices on one side, citizens with few on the other...

I just sent this to Andy, he's pissed me off terminally!

Sir, you have yet again created a special class of people in our state, Now LEO's are that class because they have rights that the rest of your citizens do not by exempting them from your Safe Act.

I Served my nation and my state for 21 years and retired from the NYARNG. I carried a machine gun for your Dad and two other Governors but you wont allow me my legal right to own anything that holds more than 10 rounds?

Your special provision for LEOS will only divide your state further, I didnt think that was possible.

You have done more damage to the people of this state than anyone short of the 9/11 terrorists and you will be remembered for that.

SSG John G C Robinson, NYARNG, Inf, Retired

QFT.

A slap in the face to anybody who ever got paid to carry a weapon for his/her country and a blatant example of union influence on liberals.
