Yea, JJ I would think you are a prime canidate. Man I wish we could get bkt's take on this. I know his surface comments would mirror most of ours but it was always the second and third paragraph where he would open your mind in directions never considered.

Its a sad day for NY and the USA. Folks, draconian gun control like that just passed in NY could also happen in some other states.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/n...eport/1834361/

Quote:
Colorado

• Governor's office: Gov. John Hickenlooper, a Democrat, has called for background checks for gun purchases and to ensure people with mental health issues get help instead of turning to violence.
•Legislature: House Speaker Mark Ferrandino (D) said Hickenlooper's call to examining access to guns by the mentally ill will be taken seriously by the House and Senate.
Quote:
Connecticut

•Governor's office: Democratic Gov. Dannel Malloy has advisory committee looking at the state's gun laws. He favors a ban on large-capacity magazines, spokesman Andrew Doba said.
•Legislature: Rep. Bob Godfrey (D) and Sen. Beth Bye (D) said they'll push legislation to limit access to high-capacity guns, require a permit to buy ammunition and expand the definition of assault weapon.
Quote:
Illinois

•Governor's office: Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn "believes strongly" that legislation restricting semiautomatic weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines should be passed this year, spokeswoman Brooke Anderson said.
•Legislature: Rep. Elaine Nekritz (D), chairwoman of the Judiciary Civil Law Committee in the last session, supports the measure. Also pending: A request by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan for a federal appeals court to review a lawsuit challenging the state's ban on concealed carry. In December, a three-judge panel struck down the ban as unconstitutional.
Quote:
Oregon

•Governor's office: Gun control is certain to be on the agenda, said Tim Raphael, spokesman for Democratic Gov. John Kitzhaber. "The Governor sees no reason for civilians to have assault weapons – period," Raphael said. "He's directed staff to research a range of options for him to consider on firearms regulation, mental health and school safety measures that could be the basis for a comprehensive approach to the problem. "
•Legislature: At least three gun control measures already are gaining support . One would ban magazines for semiautomatic pistols and rifles that hold more than 10 rounds. Another would prevent holders of concealed weapons permits from taking guns onto school property. The third would ban the sale of military-style assault rifles in Oregon.
WA just elected a long time anti-gunner as governor-watch out.

*Immediate ban on semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and pistols with a "military-style feature," such as a flash suppressor or a bayonet mount.
*Guns that are currently legal but are soon to be banned would be grandfathered in, but their owners will to required to register them with the state.
*7-round magazine capacity cap, all firearms included, no exceptions.
*Automated alert system for individuals trying to buy large amounts of ammo (amount????)

Welcome to the new New York, now bend over and take your punishment...
they also were sure to add ANY sort of muzzle device. compensator, suppressor, brake. and reduced it from 2 item to 1

I would hope that any of us with ammo backorders at online retailers who sell to the serfs of NY would ask those retailers to fill NY orders first, while they still can.

RE moving from NY to MS: I had a couple of professors in college who were transplants from NY, one from Albany and one from NYChitty. I never saw either harrassed for being yankees, and nobody ever called them "damn yankees" when they were in earshot. (damn yankees stay, not just visit)

IF I LIVED IN NY! WHAT 20 and 30 Round MAGAZINES?
And as one mentioned here if there was anyway possible I would move somewhere to enjoy the real America and freedoms and let the AHs have their state. When people leave so does their tax revenue base~
Regarding all of them we should be working hard to get their Socialist COMMY A--s out of office and hopefully even the Democrats that are gun owners or believe in our Constitution will finally wake up! They sure did not the last election! I think if I remember correctly, we warned them!
We have a President?????? who does not need nor plan to go through congress and the proper steps to get things accomplished as they should. Seems it is his way only! Executive Order! Executive Order, Executive Order and on and on. And we have not seen anything yet!
