Default My Letter to my Senator THIS MORNING!

Senator Cantwell,

I received your email response to my request that you oppose any additional gun control laws. In that response you noted your support for renewing the so called Assault Weapon Ban and closing the Gun Show Loophole.

First of all, the most recent data available regarding gun deaths in America is from 2011 and it shows less that 350 people killed by a rifle of any type. The FBI does not distinguish between a deer rifle and the semi automatic sporting rifles you are seeking to ban. Less than 350! Yet, you answer is to "try" and punish millions of law abiding citizen who own and use these firearms legally and responsibly?

Second, the "so called" gun show loop hole is a farce. Every licensed dealer at every gun show in the Country is required to run a background check on every purchaser. The ONLY exemption to this rule is sportsman... like me... who occasionaly sell a firearms to improve our collections... or gift a family heirloom, which happens to be a gun... to a responsible adult child or grandchild.

Neither of these ideas will have any measurable effect on criminals who missuse guns. They will not work because criminals don't care how many more laws you pass, on top of the 20,000 laws already in existence, that YOU FAIL TO ENFORCE.

Both of these ideas WILL harm, and ONLY harm, law abiding citizens looking to exercise thier CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT to own and use the firearms of there choice, for lawfull purposes.

I do not know if you were in office the last time your fellow Senators got behind Dianne Fienstien in 1993, but I'm quite certain you remember the results of the 1994 mid term elections.

The American people have proven with both past elections, and the recent explosion of firearm and ammunition purchases, that we are NOT interested in Washington DC's opion regarding OUR 2nd Ammendment Liberty.

With all due respect, Democrats embrace National Gun Control attempts at there own political peril... and the 2014 mid terms are coming.

As your constituent, and for the sake of your party, I emplore you to reconsider your support of these measures and oppose any new Federal Gun Control.

Respectfully,

Tack

here is what I sent some of the politicians that represent me:

Dear Mr. Bell,

I encourage you to support HB-972 allowing law-abiding citizens who are licensed to carry a gun on a college campus and HB-1194 allowing law-abiding citizens to carry openly.

If the recent tragedies across this nation have taught us anything, it is that "Gun-Free Zones" do not work. They only provide homicidal maniacs a safe, target rich environment to destroy others’ lives in. Those who wish to pursue the process of obtaining their Concealed Handgun License should not be disarmed as soon as they step foot on a college campus. This only leaves them vulnerable.

Open Carry would allow law-abiding citizens to protect themselves even when weather or attire would otherwise make carrying a gun concealed impractical. Oklahoma recently put an open carry law into effect with great success. Those wishing to open carry in Oklahoma still have to be licensed.

Please do not let these bills die in committee like so many other pro-gun bills have, all while anti-gun bills get passed into law. This is Texas and we have a strong sense of gun ownership and it is up to you to protect this right for future generations to come.

Very Respectfully,
XXXX

Dear Senator Cornyn,

Please oppose any new gun control measures including those like "National Concealed Carry Reciprocity" which are dangerous to our Second Amendment freedoms.

Although "National Concealed Carry Reciprocity" sounds like a win for the pro-gun side, it would actually force the states to surrender the names and addresses of every Concealed Handgun License holder in the country to Washington D.C. This is just another form of a national gun owner registry.

Furthermore, if a "National Concealed Carry Reciprocity" were to be passed into law, politicians from California, Illinois, New York, and other similar states would be making the laws on a NATIONAL level to decide who can carry a gun and where. Politicians in those states do not allow their citizens to protect themselves from criminals and thus they have the highest crime rate of any other states. It is clear that states like Texas, who allows law-abiding citizens to arm themselves against criminals, have much lower crime rates.

Please Stand with Rand Paul and your fellow senator Ted Cruz in their filibuster against any new gun control legislation. Remember the Alamo!

Very Respectfully,
XXXX

Dear Mr Pickett,
Please stop stalling and get HB-972, allowing law-abiding citizens who are licensed to carry a gun to do so on a college campus, and HB-1194, allowing law-abiding citizens to carry openly, out of committee and to a vote.

Dear Mr. Creighton,

Please stop stalling and get The Firearms Protection Act (HB-1076) out of committee and to a vote.

Washington is on a rampage, attacking our Second Amendment rights every day. It is up to you Mr. Creighton to protect those rights here in Texas. Do not let the federal government trample Texans in their efforts to disarm this country.

Please do not let these bills die in committee like so many other pro-gun bills have, all while anti-gun bills get passed into law. This is Texas and we have a strong sense of gun ownership and it is up to you to protect this right for future generations to come. Remember the Alamo.

The big problem is voters. It seems voters from the Liberal states send these left wing socialist to Washington. The Left Wing Politicians go to Washington and spread their Liberal views that affect all Americans. It would be of more value if voters from Blue state did not elect these people.

I'm in a blue state... And I've been working to unseat both our Senators for years.
