The gun controls came about not because of the royals who were irrelevant as they are today but that the gov where concerned about the number of arms that came back after the great war.

There were a lot of vets coming back with ptsd issues (not diagnosed those days ) also the ensuing depression and unpopular decisions the gov had to make got them nervous.

And people wonder why people don't buy that stuff here illegally because you can get it legally here. Don't see people killing each other with grenades or machine guns.

They do realize you can lift finger prints from surfaces that the owner has touched right?

My safe takes a 6-digit numeric code, if that is damaged it can be removed from the door and a back-up key used.

Oh and the kid in Germany took his dads handgun from under the stairs, it was the only one not locked away...

Exactly. I'm sure even our governments are aware that taking away the legal routes just leaves the black market which they know they can't touch.

I know a few Brits--ex-military--who would love to have the gun freedoms we enjoy.

The BBC doesn't speak for all Brits anymore than CNN speaks for all Americans. And the BBC has no vote here. And aside from Top Gear and Benny Hill reruns it's contributed very little.
Top Gear (UK) is the best show on TV. LOL.

I dont mind the US version either but it will take them a while to get the kind of chemistry that the UK hosts have after all these years. I do agree though, most of the other stuff on the BBC network sucks.

The other point is, if you like your gun control laws that's great I'm glad your happy, but what we do here is none of England's business. Our guns were good enough to save your asses from hitler so why f#ck with us now?
I don't see where i said i liked the gun laws in the uk. Perhaps you could point out where i said that or do you just want to make it up.

They got a problem with me owning my guns they're ambassador can come to my house and talk to me. Then when he shows up at parliament with a size 13 boot mark on his ass they'll know my answer.

I don't really care what other countries governments have to say they're a nice line called a border and as long as I'm on my side of it I don't have to do what they tell me. I don't have a problem with the brits, although I love the irish they have amazing food but it seems to me like they're government is just a bunch of whiny thought police.
