Your statement proves that either you are just wrong or that others are right and you have no idea what Americans are all about.

I call BS because its an ignorant statement.
Not talking about the people in general the discussion was more around governments and politics I.e foreign policy etc

No offence meant.

From The World Giving Index https://www.cafonline.org/pdf/world_giving_index_2011_191211.pdf

The list of top 20 countries in the global World Giving Index shows “…that the USA is now measured as being the most charitable country globally”

And, that survey (2011 statistics) only measures individual citizen charitable giving. If government foreign aid were to be considered, the USA would provide more charitable giving then the other 19 countries in the top 20 combined.

And you think aid given by politicians is purely from the goodness of their hearts?

Not talking charities here, I am talking government funded, my country is no different.

There is always a political pay back

Hell we've just about finished paying the installments on all that 'charity '
You gave us for the two world wars

there's always a bigger picture.

It would be probably be a good idea if people would first read back from the beginning of the thread to get a jist of what is being discussed rather than jumping in with both feet and taking things out of context.

This is why threads turn out to be pi$$ing contests. It's very frustrating when you try to give a balanced argument, even commenting on your own weakness in support of others yet you still feel your having to defend yourself because others are so touchy and precious.: Rant over:
