Those two sentences contradict each other.
Either you care what idiots think or you don't.
Me, I don't care.
If gun-grabbers want to make their argument, let it be on them to show how owning firearms screws things up.

Too many people are trying to prove the wrong point. Open carry where it is legal is fine for them. Just not for me personally.
When asked for his ID what was to be gained for not showing it? A confrontation, that is what he got, while I agree he should have not needed to show it at all.
LEO have a dangerous job, they are always under the watchful eye with all of the web cams today. If they treat you with respect show them some common courtesy and make the whole encounter more pleasant for everyone. As I feel the big picture here is that everyone goes home at night.

Depends on the state. MI does not require it, read my quoted passage from the MI State Police Update #86

Let me ask you a question, if there is no duty to protect an individual, do they have a duty to protect 3 people, how about 10 people? Several appeals court cases and state supreme court cases have all responded the same way, LEO does not have a duty to protect.

I have great respect for leo's, but Protect and serve,,my ass. Amazed how many are not aware of this. At one time,, long ago protect and serve rang true,, more and more they are becoming revenue collectors, and glorified grifters with guns.

The 4 out of 6 whom with I've spoken to recently have taught me that the uniform does not mean they should have my respect automatically. In fact the opposite. The other 2 never said a word or did a thing.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.
