Default Marijuana and gun ownership laws

A politician is putting forth an effort to allow medical marijuana users to be allowed to buy and own guns, like other users of prescription meds.

support 100%. if you can buy alcohol and guns, you SHOULD be able to buy weed and guns, especially if its medically prescribed.

but I feel many (not all) 2nd supporters will chime in here and talk about how they support some freedoms, but not others (like the freedom for adults to enjoy drugs that grow from god's green earth)..

weed has never been any worse than alcohol or tobacco. its all propaganda fed to us as kids. what is amazing is how many people still buy into it.

Sounds good to me; how many people on this forum take prescription pain killers with MUCH more impact on judgment and motor skills than cannabis.

I do think the better way to handle the issue would be for the feds to cede most of their failed "drug war" to the states and deschedule marijuana/cannabis.

Until Federal Law is changed , Marijuana is a deal breaker for legal gun ownership in all states plain and simple. So it all comes down to how important the 2A is to the individual.

you are 100% right but......bahahahahaha!

they will have about as much luck taking guns away form people who may use weed occasionally as they would prosecuting everyone who copies the occasional music or movies w/o paying for it....can we say unenforceable?

unenforceable, unreasonable, unrealistic, ineffective, unnecessary, unwarranted....so many words to describe america's sad pathetic attempts to make criminals out of people who prefer one type of high over another....

legalize it! regulate it! tax it! watch the profits and job markets boom....and then maybe we can also have space in our prisons for the REAL criminals.
