Well look on the bright side, if you can't get a steak knife in the UK, you can always buy a grenade on the black market. Or just hire someone to do your dirty work:

I fully support the banning of all sharp objects. Fact: The very day the Florida Concealed Weapons statute became law 11 people were stabbed to death in Dade county, Florida. </sarcasm>

We keep our guns at home, there is No limit on how many we can own provided you have enough gun safes to put them in and got a place / reason to shoot it. If we want .50 Cal bolt we can get it. We can only have semi auto in. 22lr with No mag caps .
Your right about the hand guns they were band after dunblane where school kids got killed with a guy with a couple of semis.

Well, he is absolutely correct. There havn`t been any murders comitted with hand guns.
They only had the rampage froma taxi driver with his shot gun.....but that dosn`t count, I guess.
Also, according to Scottland Yard statistics, the amount of crime sky rocketed after the gun ban hit Britain.
But who cares about crime, assault, rape, robery, manslaughter and murder, as long as as firearms havn`t been involved?

After the handgun ban the incidents of crime using handguns rocketed, all of these were due to illegal reactivation of deactivated firearms .which proved the point that criminals can still get the guns but we can't. So the rest of us suffered because of one retard who was infact thrown out of his shooting club and reported to the police who did nothing prior to him shooting up a school.

It`s not only crime with hand guns, that rocketed up.
According to the Scottland Yard reports, crime in general has gone sky high.
If I am correct, London is one of the most violent cities in Europe. Knife stabbings, beatings, robbery, rape, etc.
Here in germany, it`s similar. two idiots went into schools and killed several children. The school shooting in Erfurtm where it was always told, hat the shooter had the firearms legally, he had them illegally. Because he faked the papers for getting the firearms.
And in 2009, when the 17 year old kid shot 16 people and himself in Winnenden, he stole the Beretta from his father, who kept that gun in his closet instead of the gun vault, where it was supposed to be by law.

.22wmr is also legal in semi-auto and pump action, and smooth bore shotguns are ok in semi-auto and pump action but certainly no center-fire rifles are allowed in either format. Lever actions are ok in any caliber though.
So a saiga 12 with solid slug ammo is the closest we can get to an "assault" rifle. As long as you have a firearms license there is no magazine capacity limit.
Handguns are still legal for target shooting and humane dispatch in many the British crown dependencies and even the Falklands Islands. You can actually still get handguns for concealed carry in northern ireland which is part of the UK. So even they understand the justifacation for armed civilians who are vunerable to criminal attacks etc. Otherwise there are no other circumstances that I can think of where you as a civilian can get a firearm to actually protect yourself, but thats not to say you cant use your sporting firearms in self defense like occasionally happens in robberies. But that is very likely to see you behind bars if you kill the invader.

Its insane that the reaches of government worldwide have just kept going deeper and further. For Our Own Good is a battlecry we have heard from the Republi-Crats all too often and it can only end badly if we dont stop it here and now. The perfect world sounds great but you wont get one by limiting the rights of those who follow the laws. Murder and Malfeasance are nothing new, just timeless, ageless reminders that we are all just human in the end, some are defective and things we can do to stop them from being evil are useful and nothing else.

We can get hand guns on normal licence where it's permitted to shoot them but they have extended barrels and an arm brace. Pretty pointless really you may as well get an underlever, which is what I did. Even our Olympic shooters have to train abroad. Never get hand guns back No matter what the stats prove the general public Just Don't know enough about firearms to make informed decision and instead believe govt. And media.

That's not correct. All firearms have to be kept at the owners home address in a approved gun cabinet. Where else would you keep them. As for handguns i can buy any handgun i want i own 4 the ban did not apply in this part of the UK. Just as there are different gun laws in states in America the laws are different in regions of the UK.
