Default Is it legal

I've seen magazines for sale that were manufactured during the assault weapons ban and are marked "For Law and Govt Use Only". But now that the assault weapons ban is history (for a while anyway), are these magazines now legal to own? I've gotten conflicting opinions from various sources.

From everything that I've seen they're legal to own as long as high cap mags are allowed in your state and you don't have any local ordinances preventing it.
For my personal weapons I buy used mags all the time, most of my glock mags all have the LE/Govt Use Only stamped on the side of the mag.

Yes they are legal to own. This just shows they were manufactured during a period of stupidity in American history.

New HK USP'S are sold with the m&p only mags.

Paladin,

Yes those and the rifles labeled the same back during the Brady Bill days are perfectly legal to own. Unless you live in one of the Socialist Anti Second Amendment Gun Grabber States here in the USA! In fact the AR-15 Semi Rifles that have the markings on them are collected by a few people. If your state does not for example have a ten round magazine rule restricting the weapon to only 10 round max in a magazine you are good to go!

Thanks all. CDNN has Thermold AR-15 magazines REAL cheap. But they are marked for law and govt use only. The 30 rd mags are $6.99 each and the 20 rd are only $3.99. They run sales with them even cheaper than that. I've seen the 20 rd mags for $2.99. I have several Thermold mags. They are almost indestructible and function flawlessly.
