He also thinks Open Carry should be banned.

if locutus thinks open carry should be banned, he should campaign for it at city hall or DC, not on a firearms forum. I do think that there are people out there who should not own firearms because they are really not cut out for the responsibility, but they don't screen for that. Brandishing is illeagal but printing is not. If you don't like people that open carry, and are worried about your own concealed rights being infringed upon, than again, campaign for it, but not here, you preaching to the wrong choir.

Good point, but the left will infiltrate and preach to anyone that will listen. What better place than a firearms forum for the Left to preach the evils of Open Carry. Convince enough gun owners that OC is bad and Bingo, another nail in the coffin for the 2nd Amendment .

First of all he had every right to carry. However I think he should have used a little better choice regarding all that is going on today and all the shootings. It is called concealed. I would not want the A--Hats that are doing these shootings to be aware I was carrying. If they were planning an event they could simply follow me to my seat and when the time came walk up behind me in the darkness of the movie and pop me in the back of the head. This since I had already announced that I could be a threat to him. Makes you the first target! And useless to defend others or yourself. If his shirt tail happened to pop up then that is another story and can happen.
With another shooting today, we certainly do not need the anti weapon attention at this point and fuel the O Administrations points on gun control and the UN Treaty issue. I carry always but no one knows it. I do not blame him at all for carrying. I do every day. And you can bet I would be in a movie. I agree out west in some areas no one would give him second notice because it is a way of life and I like it. In most states we walk with wimps and pansies who are "Scarrrrrrred of GUNS! Most do not understand and have an inbred fear that has come from indoctrination by our Socialist News Media to start with. And have never shot, enjoyed or understood the shooting sport. I just think with all going on right now it might not have been the best choice to have it totally exposed if that is what he did. It might have been a lot better if they would have talked to him about it before they got stupid and arrested him. It was a possible judgment issue not a law violating issue! Hope he takes them to task!

So, do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Steve,

Similar! I would say that just because something is legal doesn't mean it is the best choice under a specific circumstance!

And with the element of all the shootings even as of today and the mass shooting at the theater. Walking in with a 1911 Strapped to your belt in a movie theater is one of those circumstances. Illegal absolutely not unless the theater was posted. If he carried open? Best logical choice? NOT!
Of course, I also would carry posted or not in that theater but no one would know! It sure would not have been visible.
