I recall when we moved to Carrollton, Tx (N of Dallas) north on hwy 35 up to about Beltline Drive the area was dry. Just after that there was a string of restaurants due to being able to drink and they also had drive thru liquor stores. This was about 1986-87. They had no open container laws. You could pull up beside a cop and chug your beer and drive on. The law was changed about 1989 or so.

You have to endure the Brady Waiting period. In NC due to our purchase permit system we don't have to wait. We get 5 purchase permits the next business day. Purchase permits are good as long as the sheriff that issued the purchase permit is in office.

we have no waiting period at all in the state of Texas. i have no idea where you got that from.

it doesn't matter what the firearm is, a rifle, or shotgun or a handgun. you can leave with it the smae day as you buy it.

I wish the heck MO. would do that, heck even with My CCW they have to do the Background and I always get delayed for no reason and have to wait 3 days.

in Texas if you have a CC permit, you don't even have to go through the background check. walk in, fill out the 4473 form, pay and go!

In NY we have to get a permit to poo! Were working on that! Gonna get rid of that pesky Safe act while were at it! AT this point, I have no weapons banned by NY except a brain! All I have is Safe really old guns! My grandaddies Rem M11 is wicked old so people have nothing to fear from the fact it will fire just about as fast and far as a brand new 12 Gau Semi!

All yall in those 2a friendly states should be overjoyed with NY, I dont think were allowed to even sell banned Ass weapons in this state as of today so as those that still own them die or want to un-ass their ass weapons, they will end up in the free states! Governors of those free states should be a little pissed Andy didnt consider talking with them before deciding to tell NYers to dump all their stuff out of state!

That is not what I would call a gun friendly state.
Not exactly the way it works...

Has nothing to do with the Sheriff approving you...

Passing your BGC is all that is needed...

Not a damn thing he can legally do in a shall issue state...

Get your CCW and bypass the whole silly system, buy as many as you want, whenever you want...

NC has made more improvements to their gun laws in the past 18 months than any other state...since the (R)'s took over...go figure...
