Important california laws
Hearing these things breaks my heart! My wife is a member of the NRA and
got this letter today. I've decided to act and do what I can. I have lived in
California all my life and continue to see such laws revoking the rights of it's
law-biding citizens brings out a lot of feelings.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
THIS IS MY RESPONSE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear California Government,
I write you this letter, as a humbled, law-biding, tax-paying, politically
active, voting citizen. It is my family’s solemn belief that AB1810, AB1934
and AB2223 are directly infringing on this great nation’s 2nd amendment rights.
You have heard the arguments for and against these bills. While I admire the
efforts put forth to enact these 3 bills, I implore you to reconsider adding
another taxing, rights-revoking bill to our already bloated law system (3rd
largest in the WORLD).
I realize your intentions are to reduce the horrific firearm crimes that happen
on a daily basis and sometimes hurting and killing innocent citizens. AB1810,
AB1934 and AB2223 do nothing to even slow this. Please redirect your focus
to our gang problems, under-paid teachers, over worked police and
over-crowded prison system. The great state of California is my home and is
in dire need of help in those areas.
The very most PRIMARY role of our government is to protect its law-biding
citizens from out-laws. The next is educating its people to a minimum level,
followed by making higher education more readily available. In addition, it
needs to promote commerce and trade through infrastructure.
Despite these bills good intentions, these are 3 steps in the complete
opposite direction. I am sad to see such talent wasted on another
restriction applied to the people of California.
Please, consider the silent majority instead of pandering to the loud
minorities.
Sincerely,
Life-long (4th generation) Californian
“Don't interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained,
for it is the only safeguard of our liberties.“ -Abraham Lincoln
I'm sorry to say it, but it's been said, "As goes California, so goes the nation."

I wish you and all California gun owners luck in defeating these proposed laws. They and those like them already signed into law do infringe on your 2A rights and should be repealed. The problem is finding someone with deep pockets to confront the California government who has a battery of lawyers just sitting on tax supported payrolls to fight any challenge.
Love the response!!

Well done Gloves. Check out the Calguns Foundation. They do good work.

Well done on the response. I am also a life long, many generation Californian, but am not proud to be here any longer and have not been for some time. I will be fighting for my freedoms till my last breath, be it with written word or physical action when the time comes..........

That's a very good letter, Gloves, but I expect it will fall on deaf ears. It is precisely this sort of effort to express your opinion to those who represent you (at whatever level) in a civil, polite and lawful fashion that is so important.
We'll see what the future brings. Hopefully, these CA Assembly bills will die and never become law. But if they do become law, good, law-abiding people of California have some potentially tough choices ahead of them. It might be wise to figure out well ahead of time what you will do.

Zero!
I do not blame them!
I fear these laws coming from California and Illinois will spread to other states.

I don't wish to put words in your mouth, Bigcountry, but what does it say when good, decent, law-abiding people begin to think about adopting some of the ways of criminals they have despised for so long in order that they may retain their rights from an overzealous and out-of-control government?
