just wondering if you have to have a concealed license to open carry. i was thinking about it last night. my dad bought a holster (for range use) and i didn't know.

Depends on the state and firearm. Most states allow open carry of long rifles. Some require a license for open or concealed carry and some only require one for concealed carry. In Georgia you need to get a weapons carry license to open or conceal carry pistols. It's a shall issue state though and if you aren't a felon and have around sixty or seventy bucks you'll get your license.

you need to research the firearms laws of your state and see what is and what isn't legal. just Google your state and firearms laws and it should direct you to the site that will spell out all the laws regarding firearms.

I'd put some SERIOUS thought into open carrying if I were you. I know it's a right but it has drawbacks that concealed carry does not.
