handgun mags only can have 15(maybe 12) or less
Those were 2 that stuck out to me.
Than there was, no pistol grip on shotguns, no front fore-grip on shotguns, laser sights illegal, no home owner can have rubber bullets, slugs or sand bag ammo, one in the chamber is an additional charge/fine...
I been searching a lot but no site seems to have a collective writing on all the laws, sad really.

The best place to check on the gun laws of Illinois would be to search The Illinois State Police web page. I'm happy to help you in any way I can, BioInclined.

For some reason the site hasn't been loading for me the past few days.
I do like to search into the detailed stuff though, it helps in-case you have to "get around" a law or something, or better understand it.

Criminals with a felony conviction can't get a FOID card. Just like they can't legally buy a gun.

I equate the FOID card system with some of the other states handgun purchase permits that they have to get issued just to buy a handgun. The difference is that the FOID is good for 10 years and you can buy whatever you want without individual paperwork or permission for each type of gun you want to buy.

BTW a FOID card is $15 for 10 years. So it averages $1.50 per year.

It may have changed but previously the first FOID card was only good for 4 years. I am on my second one now which is 10 but the first one was only valid for 4 years.

My point exactly. So why don't they put more effort into catching and punishing the ones that aren't obeying the laws instead of making it harder on those of is that do?

Btw, I was trying to be a bit humerous with that first post...

Just one more reason we here in the free state of IN like to call our neighbor west "Sillinoise" as in Silly-noise. Chitcago is and has been known for its rampant violent crime and govt. ahhh, shall we say, scandals. Just another example of how "Socialism Works"

Now we have that flavor of "politics" in DC.

Can we say "YAY!!"

Foid, wait period, no ccw. WTF!?
After moving to Tenn. from Fla. I feel restricted. There are certain weapons that I can't carry here that I could in Fla. BUT. I can still buy/sell guns over breakfast in town whenever I want (bought a S&W Highway Patrol this AM), I can go to any gun store and walk out with my purchase, even if I buy 5 at once, and I DO carry everywhere.

Yea we get it, Illinois sucks. I'd move if I could sell my house, but who the hell wants to live here? I hope my wife realizes how much I love her, because she is the only thing keeping in this crappy state.
