Oh it'll be the day when Illinois grasps the concept that gun control doesn't stop gun crime!

Illinois, in the sense of "the majority" has long since grasped that concept

it'll change when those who agree get off their lazy behinds and actually vote.

Like I said earlier...we are the majority. I could provide way too many examples to prove that...all it takes is showing up and proving it.

In general where I live (Chicagoland area) guns are seen as a bad thing to many, unfortunately.

If I may, I ask you to please consider this as a possibility

Perhaps it's just the people you pay attention to that think guns are a bad thing (Chicagoland area)

Look at how many gun shops are in the immediate Chicago Area (a very generic, very quickYelp.com search yielded 15 results)

Bass Pro Shops
Cabelas
Scheels

All of those, just a start, thrive in the Chicago area, selling lots of guns & ammo.

Edit to add

We're better than California in some areas, such as there is no such thing as a IL compliant gun whereas a lot of guns have to be slightly modified and stamped CA compliant to be legal in CA.

I agree with the PorkChop. I have four gun shops within a 25 minute drive, Bass Pro, Rinks, Freddy Bear and Mega Sports. All of them are busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest every time I go there. That tells me there are far more people around here that are interested in firearms. It's the vocal minority that makes you feel that most people think guns are bad. On Sunday I we are having some friends over, old friends of my wife. I am taking the husband shooting, the kicker is that his wife is the biggest Lib I have ever met, yet she is fine with him going shooting with me. He's a country boy from southern IL, why they got married I'll never know. I was shocked when my wife suggested I take him shooting.

Just because she is a Lib doesn't mean she agrees with everything the other idiots agree with. I consider myself a mutt of the political world because I agree with stuff all over the board.. That is awesome that you are taking him shooting. Me, ZG, and my daughter are going shooting today.
