Sicilian curses, huh? Think the term was "Scutta mal occhio" or something like that....
Always wanted to ask a New Yorker- what the heck is a Throg? And if it had a neck, why put a bridge over it?

Just for you c3: Malocchio: Ever-Present, All-Seeing Evil Eye | GIROSOLE: Italy Travel Information
As far as the bridge:
There is a skinny finger of land sticking down into the Long Island Sound there. As I understand it ‘Neck’ (Knek?) is Dutch for peninsular or something. The area was owned by somebody named John Throck, thus, over time, Throg’s Neck. But really, it’s in ‘The Bronx’, and outside of my area of expertise.
Now, really, have to get to work! Bye.

I think the whole news story is a lie .
You mean to tell me if I live in N C and have a felony but I have a ccw that I can still buy a gun . Wow you would think a lot more crime would happen there . I can't believe that a state law over rides a federal law. I remember one time in the army when they past the law saying if you were convected of spousal abuse you were no longer aloud a weapon and you were kick out .

???
It not a question of the laws not being on the books, it's a question of ineptidude and inefficency. Nobody's checking the permits against the convictions.

I understand that. But who's to say that NYT is telling the truth. I know here in Texas to get ccw first you have to take and pass a certified class and the a DPS background check . You mean N C does none of these. I am not trying to come off as an a hole or someone looking for a fight. Lol

I understand. I think they mean nobody checks whether someone newly convicted already has a CCW they got when they were clean, not the otherway around.

Idiots with guns are exactly why we need ccw. Does it really matter if he has a permit or not if he threatens you.

So the antis came up with a couple of CCW negative statistics?
What? 1%? A few dozen people? How many people died total? 10? 20?
"Because of CCW permits" ?
woooo!
Fair enough.
Well, I've got some "gun control" negative statistics.
First, let's talk about Camden, N.J., where there's gun control.
It's back on top again, with the highest murder rate in the land.
Hundreds of people shot to death every year.
Hitler got gun control @1938, right before he rounded up
and murdered six million people. (He also killed
an additional 6 million Jews.)
China has gun control. Chairman Mao lined up and shot
30 million of his fellow countrymen during
peacetime.
So, we've got RKBA, and a few dozen deaths a decade,
or "gun control"-IMO aptly named, because they properly
slaughter entire populations wholesale...
Doesn't exactly take a math whiz to see what's safer...
