I was told that LE has ways of determining the manufacture date of a magazine? Is this not true? My DPMS AR shipped from a 3rd party vendor to me in NY with (2) 20 rd. mags. I don't even think DPMS made a .308 AR before 1994!

That would be some trick if the mags had absolutely no markings whatsoever.

Most mags have some markings, additionally some mags have "strengthening" grooves stamped in different locations on the sheet metal from one brand to the next and from one manufacture date to the next...I've seen it stated on another forum which is predominantly LE, that they can tell. I'd like to know if that's true, and if so , how.
