,its very common here in WV,i tell you what will give a delay
somewhere in your past,did you ever give one number wrong in
your SS number,i did they told me and im de-layed alot but
always goes threw,,good luck

You know I do have an old credit card that had the wrong SS#, it has since been paid off but I think the credit line may still be open.

I am trying not to panic.

Don't worry about it. Unless you have a felony conviction or are under indictment for a felony, it ultimately will (well, it should) go through just fine. I'm pretty sure that if you get denied you have a right to a written explanation as to why.

In most states, face-to-face sales of rifles and shotguns are legal. So worst case, buy something you like from someone in your state.

Good to hear all went well. I have been "delayed" four times to date. It's almost a gamble as in between those delays, I have bought guns without the delay. I love how they offer no explanation either. Stranger things have happened though. As an aside, I tried to buy a cell phone from US Celluar a few years ago. They REFUSED to sell it to me stating that my name and DOB did not match my SSN. Guess those don't need to match to have a secret clearance in the military and pass background checks for L/E employment.
