We do not need the federal government sticking its long nose in states rights business.

alsaqr: while it is usually true that the feds should leave the states alone, this Bill isn't about "states" rights, this is a National Bill. Meaning, if it passes, someone that is licensed to carry in one state can legally carry in every other state. Saves those of us that would like to do that hundreds of dollars worth of fees to get non-res permits.

So, would you clarify your objection to this Bill for me? Are you against it because you incorrectly think the feds are interferring with state rights? Or is it that you are for people spending more money than they absolutely need to?

This is a federal bill over riding the States right to regulate the carrying of concealed weapons with in that state. It also is a two edged sward in that now the federal government has a hand in the say so of who and what the qualifications are for carry concealed.

Ever wander why dianne feinstein supports the national right to carry concealed bill?

The other edge of the sward is that every legal concealed carry person can go from state to state without worry. But just who will be carrying concealed is the big question.

Not always is federal government your friend.

It's not about national reciprocity: It's about the federal gov't all hot to get its nose into concealed carry. We do not need the likes of Schumer and Feinstein mandating training requirements, drawing up a politically correct list of guns that you are not allowed to carry and telling you where you are not allowed carry.

That's because she sees a chance to eliminate concealed carry as we know it. Yep, she would be aided and abetted by lots of naive concealed carriers.

If you can't see a states rights issue here then i can't help you.

Just to clear up the issue of dianne feinstein’s stance of national conceal carry. She does not support any concealed carry except federal law enforcement and political people (herself included). She applauded the defeat of the last attempt to pass a federal concealed carry bill not because she was totally against it, but because it had no provisions for federal control of who can have a concealed carry permit.

Right after the defeat of the last bill she wrote and submitted her own version of the bill, which would only allow for federal LEO and political persons. Her version would establish a federal guide lines for who can and can not carry concealed anywhere in the U.S., it also took the control of concealed carry out of the states hands and placed it in the hands of the federal government. Her version was anti-gun and pro government control of your rights.
