I didn't think about that. That is concerning

Ditto! We will just have to make sure the NRA and the people stay on top of such catch 22 situations and keep people forwarned of things like that.
That is the kind of stuff that needs to be posted for thought, good thinking AIKIJUTSU.
Who actually brought this bill up? Who is pushing this bill through? Is the NRA trying to make this happen or is this just a sugar coated scam to get to a place like AIKIJUTSU said so they can actually try relieving us of our weapons in the future??

Another thing that comes to mind - If they do go so far as a national permit, they could make the requirements so stiff that only a few could qualify, which would of course include members of congress, the cabinet, and a few other priviledged people. Sorry if I seem paranoid, but it's hard to believe that congress would suddenly be acting to support or protect any of our rights.

They didn't do all this with driver's licenses. Cars kill 25X as many people

annually than guns.

So, it would appear that public safety is not their primary motive.

Cars do kill more than guns, but cars are never under attack. It is guns that are under attack, and I dont think I trust the very pepole attacking them with concelled carry freedoms

If this bill passes, it will have been amended and had so much irrelevant material added, it will do more harm than good.

Also, our cars are under attack, why is all domestic oil production being blocked or delayed?

Cars, fuel, tires, brakes window glass everything on cars is regulated to meet National Highway Standards. SAE approval a fake in its self calls out the Sandards for cars on and off the highways. The National Firearms Law will in time allow for only certain calibers of handguns and ammuntion. Their will be laws regarding how guns must meet certain rules. Holsters will have to meet child saftey standards. A Federal Interstate Gun Commision will over rule all state laws on firearms. Damn isn't that what we have been fighting against for the last one hundred years.

It's just a ploy to appease people into thinking they are the good guys. The idea of permits is not right to begin with. What other parts of the BOR will become privilege because the feds are working hard for you and me

I agree, IMO, we need an amendment to the BOR

which enforces all the other amendments...

Then we would have our lives back.
