do you expect others to respect your rights and wishes on your own property? why not respect anothers right in the course of their business? what if someone felt the way you do and decided they could wahtever they wanted to on your own property? please think about the rights and wishes of others, if you want them to respect yours.
When you break it down, that is true. I do respect the laws 100%. But after reading that I do not have to obey those signs, is it really breaking the law or disobeying a store owners orders. Either way it is true what you are saying.

It's called concealed carry. If you do it right, who knows??

Except that metal detector.

Hooters serves alcohol. In NC it's illegal to carry a firearm anywhere that serves alcohol. We have been trying to gain the right to carry in restaurants for years here in NC. It is an uphill battle! Everyone knows of a restaurant that doubles as a bar on the weekends. Every time we meet with gun friendly legislators the same thing comes up. It's not that we are concerned that the permit holder will be under the influence. We don't want problems from the neighborhood coming to a head in anyones business where alcohol is served.

let me phrase it this way. if you didn't aloow smoking or drinking in your home, and guest of yours decided to light up and drink a beer, would you protest their actions? what if they said, well i guess i can because you disregarded that sign at the jewelry store that said no firearms allowed, so you didn't feel compelled to respect their rights and wishes, why should i feel compelled to honor yours? put the shoe on the other foot. think about others rights. if you want respect from others, you have to give respect to others.

Moby, a business is open to the general public, but is still private property. and as such they are allowed to restrict people from carrying on their property. goes back to what i said before. vote with the wallet, but an owner of a business is entitled to his rights as well, whether we agree with it or not. as C3 said, their business, our money. and am i for some law that makes them have to allow people to be able to conceal carry? hell no! that would be restricting their freedoms and rights. i have the choice to spend my money elsewhere, so i will respect those establishments rights by honoring their wishes, even though i don't agree. not allowing people to CC in your business isn't unconstitutional, it's the owners choice and right. we need to respect that.
