Because 1 comment is all it takes to move the discussion completely off topic.

A comment that was meant somewhat sarcastically, I just chose the big grin smilie instead of rolls eyes.

I think your comment requires an explanation!

More Ammo w/o a mag change would help. I'd add a quick retreat to a more easily defended point in the house and a SECOND ARMED ADULT. If there are two adults in a houshold a second self defense weapon is a huge advantage.

OK, so I typed out my long winded piss and moan session. Then I re-read the whole thread. I thought there were more people talking about different calibers and accuracy and other stuff that is beside the point?

Apparently I'm in a glass is half empty mood these days. Overall the comments are all very pro 2A. Sorry if I offended anyone by questioning your commitment to the cause. Suddenly it looks like my disappointment is unfounded.

It's Thursday. The weekend is in sight. Perhaps that's why I'm seeing things better.

I saw this video on another forum and it actually brought tears to my eyes. To think that a government, any government would limited a person's ability to defend himself and his family is just criminal.
I think the real point isn't what caliber he should have had or if he should have changed mags or if he should learn to shoot better, the REAL point is that it should be HIS choice as to how many rounds his mag holds, not the governments.
My personal training tells me that if two solid body shots won't stop the perp then I shoot for the head if the shot is available. Also, I always figure anywhere from 3 to 5 shots to stop a perp no matter what the caliber so if my gun holds 12 rounds(as in the case of my current CZ82) that's 13 shots total so I can count on being able to stop 2 to 4 perps with proper shot placement on average.

True but its getting proper shot placement when bullets are flying your direction.

Exactly!

13-16 rounds mean nothing if you miss half of the time. 1 round, or 100 rounds, it doesn't matter. Shot placement is everything.
