The votes aren't there to "ram" a new AWB through Congress. We are going to get to see exactly who votes for what - then work to either get them re-elected OR kick their respective hind-ends to the curb next election.

Polling and public opinion is going to matter a lot to these folks. My fingers are crossed that if we have another moron go on a shooting spree, a licensed concealed carrier takes him out - needing 11 or more shots to get it done!

I am a democrat, and I am for his impeachment, and I will never, not ever, vote for another democrat because of what they now stand for.

My three cents.

Which rifles, shotguns and other firearms are now banned?

A rifle now qualifies as an "assault weapon" if it is semiautomatic, has a detachable magazine and any one of the following features: a flash suppressor, a folding or collapsible stock, a pistol grip, a thumbhole stock, a second handgrip for the non-trigger hand, a bayonet mount or a grenade launcher. A semiautomatic shotgun with any one of these attributes, a fixed capacity of over seven rounds or a shroud that lets the shooter grab the barrel also qualifies. Revolving-cylinder shotguns are also banned. A semiautomatic pistol with a folding stock, a thumbhole stock, a second handgrip, the ability to accept a magazine outside of the grip, a shroud or a threaded barrel capable of accepting a silencer is also banned.

This is from the NRA Chief on Yahoo, they did not read between the lines on what this administration true intentions here. How did do they want background checks, to the point it establishes a national registry.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The head of the National Rifle Association says the organization has no problem with tighter background checks of gun purchasers.

But association president David Keene also says too much emphasis has been placed on banning certain firearms.
