Default Here comes the bills on control

Here comes the bill on some sort of control. This is from the gun wire website.

http://onlygunsandmoney.blogspot.com/2013/01/lots-of-bills-filed-in-congress.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=fee d&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+NoLawyers-OnlyGunsAndMoney+%28No+Lawyers+-+Only+Guns+and+Money%29

I have listed the bills below in order of their introduction along with their sponsor and the bills working title. I have put the one pro-gun bill in bold print.

HR 21 - James Moran (D-VA)
To provide for greater safety in the use of firearms.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.21:

HR 34 - Bobby Rush (D-IL)
To provide for the implementation of a system of licensing for purchasers of certain firearms and for a record of sale system for those firearms, and for other purposes.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.34:

HR 65 - Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX)
To prevent children's access to firearms.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.65:

HR 93 - David Cicilline (D-RI)
To amend chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, to restrict the ability of a person whose Federal license to import, manufacture, or deal in firearms has been revoked, whose application to renew such a license has been denied, or who has received a license revocation or renewal denial notice, to transfer business inventory firearms, and for other purposes.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.93:

HR 117 - Rush Holt (D-NJ)
To provide for the mandatory licensing and registration of handguns.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.117:

HR 133 - Thomas Massie (R-KY)
To repeal the Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990 and amendments to that Act.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.133:

HR 137 - Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY)
To ensure that all individuals who should be prohibited from buying a firearm are listed in the national instant criminal background check system and require a background check for every firearm sale.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.137:

HR 138 - Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY)
Co-sponsored by Diana DeGette (D-CO)
To prohibit the transfer or possession of large capacity ammunition feeding devices, and for other purposes.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.138:

HR 141 - Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY)
To require criminal background checks on all firearms transactions occurring at gun shows.
Referred to the House Judiciary Committee

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.141:

HR 142 - Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY)
To require face to face purchases of ammunition, to require licensing of ammunition dealers, and to require reporting regarding bulk purchases of ammunition.
Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.142:

While all bills are important and could be enacted, the likelihood is that most of these bills will never get a hearing and will have no further action. HR 138 sponsored by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy is the major bill of this bunch and the one that may get some attention. Fortunately, the incoming chair of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Bob Goodlatte (R-VA) has said he doesn't favor any new gun control laws including magazine restrictions.

As more bills and more information becomes available, it will be posted.

I'm happy to see ky lawmakers trying to do away with gun free school zones.

This gun free school zone law, could state lawmakers write state laws that would enable ccw permit holders to legally carry in schools in their state?

Carolyn McCarthy hates guns because her husband "Was killed by one" but the truth is that he was likely killed by a criminal or nutcase. I respect her mourning her loss but have no respect for her gun licensing, prohibiting, gun grabbing ! She and the rest of that anti-gun crowd I detest and will resist so long as I shall live !

I bet most of those bills are going to be DOA and at least one looks redundant as the current NCIS background check is probably as good as it is going to get.

Magazine limits are pointless. I thought that during my pro-gun control days. Purely a feel good measure that doesn't do any good for non-criminals. Also doesn't bother criminals. Will not reduce crime or reduce killings by firearms.

I do wonder about the so-called "gun show loophole". It's time may have come, which is too bad because we don't need more government interference.

I also love the idea they are going to try and shut down online ammunitiion sales. If that isn't blatant overreach I don't know what is. Even a Fudd is going to protest that one, not everyone has easy access to Wal-Mart or some other common retailer.

Interesting that Feinstein's bill has yet to be introduced despite her claims it would be put forth on the first day. I wonder if there are not some backroom meetings going on trying to get her to STFU before she costs a lot of Democrats their jobs in 2014? Some Colorado Democrat Congresscritter was also saying they were going to put forth a magazine limit bill but maybe they held off because McCarthy could do the dirty work for them.

They've done their duty and mollified their liberal urban constituencies. and these bills will never be heard of again.

If we can just stave off the liberals for another month or so, they'll be screaming about raped penguins melting in global warming with stolen African diamonds or some such nonsense.

Sheila wasted a bunch of ink. Gov Perry "carries" a coyote found out the hard way.
