NY State bill to require liability insurance as condition of gun ownership

A bill was introduced in the State Assembly by Felix Ortiz (D-Brooklyn) that would require citizens of New York to acquire liability insurance as a condition to gun ownership.

Bill S2353 will require all gun owners in NY to obtain and "continuously maintain" insurance coverage of at least $1 million, or they will suffer "immediate revocation of such owner's registration, license and any other privilege to own" a firearm.

If the citizen fails to obtain the insurance, then by simply owning the firearm, they will be in violation of the law.

This bill was introduced by Assemblyman Ortiz as an amendment to the current NY State Insurance Law.

Dude they do need to put their foot down. You only let the government treat you the way you let them. A million for insurance is overkill and they should say **** that and stand up and do something about it.

New Yorkers Second Amendment rights have been shredded. CO is poised to pass serious gun control this year. CT will pass more feel good gun control this year: Like they need with the draconian gun control that is law there. Look for gun control to pass in MD, CA, WA and maybe OR.

"Its for the children" say the anti-gun blissninnies. Never mind the idiots have no intention of enforcing existing guns laws. Our VP, Joe the Idiot, said as much.

I truly believe that you cannot free a people, they have to free themselves. And if the people of a state lets these anti-gun/anti-rights **** happen they get what they deserve. Some states may be a total loss but most are not if the people act fast.
