Nope. There is no provision for that in CA law. There is also no provision for an out-of-state sale of a handgun that was once registered in CA.

Best thing you could do would be to either sell it outside of CA or to transfer it from the guy you bought it from to the guy you sell it to.

Odds are nothing would come up anyhow.
