I've written my rep about this, and I desperately hope it doesn't gain any traction.

I've gotta ask though, does anyone else see any kind of humor in the fact this is HR is numbered as 308?

yeah she likes to spear head things in anti-gun laws and pretty soon people are gonna get tired of it and toss her bills out, the only reason i can think of these people jumping on with her is because they cant find their way by themselves, its the blind leading the blind. and yeah i find it pretty funny its named 308, for a second i thought McCarthy was gonna try and ban the .308 because its considered a "cop killer" to her like the .50 BMG is misleadingly thought in California

That number made me misunderstand for a few seconds. I was thinking it was a ban on large-caliber rifle magazines, or a ban on AR-10 magazines, or something from the vast .223 Remington conspiracy.

By the way...what is the point of a GLOCK with 10 rounds? Anyone...

Nothing about this entire thing makes sense. If it doesn't involve confiscation, then it will not affect our ability to obtain appropriate capacity magazines for the weapons that we legally own. I wasn't yet introduced into the modern world of high cap pistols and ARs during the first ban, however my friends and I had numerous AK-47s and 10/22s (just off the top of my head) and I hardly even noticed a difference in our shooting habits, even looking back. We (our parents, uncles, big brothers) had the magazines prior to the ban, kept and maintained them, bought new ones when we saw them at flea markets, etc. And shot our little hearts out in the desert with out harming a soul. (maybe a rabbit or two, sorry rabbits )

After the ban was lifted I was into pistols and bought THE high cap pistol of the time. . . yep a Glock. That's when I began to really appreciate the fun, convenience and bad guy protection that hi-caps offered.

There is no reason for responsible gun owners to have a 10 round limit on ANY firearm that is designed for otherwise, anyone with half a brain knows that and I believe we'll see the end result reflect that. . . I know more than half of the elected members of Congress will base their vote on statistics (gun crime before, during and after the ban) and the obvious factor that criminals will get guns and hi-cap mags regardless of law, because they are CRIMINALS!!!

If the proposed law does involve confiscation, then you'll have so many other problems involved It'll never work.

This one just can't go through. I don't see it. . .

Not a single one in either of my two, what I consider to be "home" states. New Mexico and Colorado. I'm planning a solid move (land purchase and property building) here soon back to the 4-Corners area and that could make NE Arizona a slim possibility. . . very slim, just because of the reservation and it's effect.

All my family is still in Texas, which is where I came from, but I saw one or two names on that list were from that great state. I can't believe that. . .

The problem with the voters in these areas keeping the politicians around is not a problem that folks like us create or can fix. . . These politicans have a way to buy their way in to their positions and they tend to stay there.

It would be great if keeping these Socialist, Anti-constitutional, UN-American bast_rds out of Congress were as simple as having a talk with a few guys at work and educating them about the Constitution and why it was placed there to protect the American citizen against an overpowering government. But it is a little more than just a few voters "pulling their heads out of their a$$es

Come on guys, every one of you know this has absolutely nothing to do with how many rounds a mag can hold. It is, and always is, about CONTROL, period.
As Corrinavatan stated, there are hundreds of thousands of "hi-cap" mags out there. How often do we hear about some nut-case going on a spree killing? This is just another attempt throw more legislation out there.

As far as I can figure, it isn't us conservatives that keep electing these socialist/democratic megalomaniacs into office! It is the SHEEPLE out there who have a conditioned need to be CONTROLLED!

Speaker Boehner says that H.R. 308 is not going anywhere. When the house speaker says it ain't going anywhere, take it to the bank. The only way they could over-ride the speaker is to get 218 signatures on a discharge petition: That ain't going to happen either.

Google her district map. Of course she gets re-elected every time. Her constituents are as bat-sh*t crazy as she is.
