I just bought more magazines for my AR and Mini-14. I think thats what they will go after. High capacity magazines.

My gut tells me that, in California, a state wide AWB will go into effect very soon.
You can either turn them into the cops, sell them out of state or a gunshop who must then sell them out of state or destroy them.

I think you can bet on the manufacture of AR15s at least being banned in the very near future. As one Obama's minions is noted for saying, "Never let a good crisis go to waste." And they have one made to order in the CT tragedy. We will be lucky if there is not a move to confiscate all of them in civilian hands or as a minum require regi$tration just as is required now on full-auto weapons.

First assult rifles, then magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, then any other semi automatic rifle, then semi automatic pistols that fire other than .22LR. One step at a time

Since the house is majority republican, thank god, I don't see a ban passing within the next 4 years. I think the biggest issue for working Americans will be lower quality and more expensive healthcare.
Not two months after being re-elected my health insurance already went up $60 per pay check. I just hope we can ride out the next four years and in the end still have gun rights and that the healthcare system and economy isn't screwed up to bad.
That is because hospitals are buying up private practices. Due to the fact that hospitals are providing care for the indigent they can charge twice as much as a private practice. More doctors are selling their practices to hospitals for a song. In turn, the hospital lowers the doctors overhead, has interns to give the doctor more free time and allows the doctor to charge twice as much.

By forcing everyone to get insurance hospitals won't be able to charge twice as much. Doctors will still pool resources because a group of doctors has more negotiating power than a single doctor. But costs will go down overall for everyone. Right now in this area lots of people are paying a huge copay for each service because there is a facility charge. The copay for a blood test used to be around $20. Now the copay is in the hundreds for the same test.

Someone needs to post that clip from V for Vendetta, when he's addressing the people, and how they turned in all their rights out of fear.

Just to remind everyone from some of the above comments! Regardless of what the liberal dems would like us and the public to believe! There was no assault rifle used in this last horrific shooting incident. But if you listen to their BS closely you will hear! On NBC this morning I heard! "Well the weapons used in the school were capable or could have had 30+ round magazines and were capable of possibly also having a 100 round drum magazine also. Shows you how illiterate these imbeciles are. Or they are intentionally misleading the American public and most are ignorant enough to buy it. Once again showing their utter stupidity. I am sorry and hurt as most here are about the little ones life being taken so terribly. As most brings tears to my eyes due to sadness and also rage at the same time! And my heart goes out to all. But the bad news for Obama and company I will not surrender my weapons. Lets not blame the gun. Lets speak of what we as a society have allowed to happen. A lack of discipline, God, accountability, respect, responsibility and mental health policies and issues. All played a major contributing factor to a frippen insane person. This kid all his life had been so bad he could not attend normal educational facilities. And he plays killing video games for hours and has access to live firearms? Politicians, Give us a break! You and the courts have made it almost impossible to deal and do anything with these mentaly unstable people or to bring back the good things about America listed above. All of the recently have fallen into the same mold. You would think they (government and the Politicians) would get a HINT of where the problems were originating from! Duh!

Do not panic remain calm we will wage a war against the Left. We are the only group in America that will stand up to the socialist take over of this nation. The country is more divided than any time since that April morning in 1861.

Those of us he were there in those dark days following the killing of JFK have stood to the leftest attacks many times. The left will rise up and blame the rights of the citizens ignoring the criminals. The Far Left Teachers Unions that are the leaders of gun control will call for prayers while they lobby for more socialist control of our freedoms. I notice the OP is defending the Teachers Unions agenda.

This is a time when the good God fearing gun owners of this country fight for our rights. These tragedies arent the fault of guns. Guns are just the easiest means at these psycho's disposal. If we dont fight, we will lose our rights. I can promise one thing, there is no way in hell I will give up even a pellet gun without a fight.
