The article basically said the Barrack Obama intends to address gun control in his next speech, where it was conspicuously absent in his AZ speeches. It said that BO would like to strengthen existing gun laws.

liberals completely disregard the fact that gun control increases crime, murder, rape, abuse of the elderly, racism, and misery. look at every state and city that has strict gun control laws and compare the crime to states with the least restrictive.

Thanks, Bro. So it did not say anything we did not know already.

I especially appreciate how they made out the 2nd amendment supporters to be defenseless by stating "Meanwhile, the National Rifle Association has stayed largely silent following the Arizona shootings.". Appearently the NRA speaks for all of us and they've decided we cannot refute Obama's proposition... F&#k Newsweek. About as honest as MSNBC. I might not be the NRA spokesman but I have something they can loudly kiss as a comment since an organization that supposedly does represent us all is reportedly silent.

I'm well aware of all that, and I'm certainly not supporting gun control in ANY way, I'm just saying that the article was relatively tame. As Skull said, it isn't anything we didn't already know.

Default speeches and rhetoric

I'll bet anybody here dollars to donuts that as soon as Barry opens his yap about firearm legislation he will be the absolute best gun salesman in history. Even better than Klinton. Think ammo prices in early '09 were high? Remember AR and AK prices doubling and sometimes tripling in some areas? People voted with their wallets and I guess that was what it took to push off the issue until now. That was before he really said -anything- policy wise about the issue. America is cautious of this guy and listens to what he says as they absolutely should. If he cant get his way legislatively or through judicial activism he will get it through regulation. Watch the other hand guys.

The article was more informative, almost a heads-up. The NRA was chatting on this article; however, not a peep on when the speech will happen or even if it happens?

The prices are finally coming down from the roof and any rumors of legislation/regulation in the works and it is back to day after the election of November 2008. Look at the Saiga 12 shotgun, prices doubling and availability almost zero (depending on where you live).

The panic has started. Try finding quantities of AK47 or AR15 mags anywhere, the prices are a lot higher if you can even find them in quantity.
