Gun Control Passes, so does the rest of our freedoms!
Good article from Natural News website. Too bad the sleepy are not reading it!
http://www.naturalnews.com/039507_gun_control_Bill_of_Rights_free_speech.html
If gun control passes, there will come 'free speech control' and the government banning of websites, books and art
The purpose of the Bill of Rights is to establish a line in the sand that cannot be crossed by government. The founders rightly saw government as an eternal threat against freedom and justice, knowing that all governments inevitably grow out of control like a cancer tumor, always seeking more and more power until they kill the host. The answer to this destructive pattern of dangerous government throughout human history was to place limits on government power and stake out fundamental rights and freedoms that can never be infringed.
That's the Bill of Rights, the original ten amendments to the Constitution. The Bill of Rights says the government can never ban your free speech, take away your firearms, search your house or your person without a warrant, quarter soldiers in your home without permission, force you to testify against yourself, throw you in prison without a fair trial and so on. Nearly every scholar, when it comes down to it, agrees these are fundamental human rights and civil liberties.

just a quick refresher: that line was crossed in 1934 when congress created the unconstitutional NFA

I know; but, back then we the people did not wide access to information. You had the progressive media pushing the BS.

Without starting a Civil War discussion it was bent rather badly in 1861. President Lincoln though the first Republican stands as an icon of the American left. Lincoln was allowed to shut down newspapers imprison dissenters North and South. The Second Amendment was trampled as was any thing that impeded the Federal Government. Yes, there was a war but there was a constitution. FDR changed Americas direction by denying freedoms to certain Americans.

Our nation isn't that far from a Fahrenheit 451 or 1984 type situation.
1. They are trying to disarm us
2. They have tons of "Big Brother" type watching of people
3. They are taxing us to death
5. They censor us
I don't think it will be long until they start banning certain books, websites, tv shows, and movies.

Most gun control laws are state and local. The gun laws in the U.S. range from severe in N.Y., Ill. and California to very free in Alaska, Arizona and Wyoming.
Many states and local governments offer their citizens protection against Federal gun laws. The Federal laws are much less than even Colorado.

we have already created a special category of crime - 'hate crime', which basically means if you say the wrong things before you kill someone, it's a worse sentence guideline. what the heck is that?
all I know is that in TODAY'S world, if you are like me, they don't seem to care about you too much. (50 this year, male, Caucasian, straight, taxpayer, no criminal background)

This article needs to be read and understood. Thanx opaww.
“Yes, they should vote against this ridiculous rule, which is politically motivated. There is no reason they should be considering this bill anyway. Why is a GOP-controlled House taking up leftist legislation instead of bills to block grant Medicaid, repeal ethanol mandates, or reform the Fed? Even if they choose to bring up bad legislation, they should do so under an open amendment process.”
