Don't ya just love this part?

"The investigators then conduct a basic probe into the gun purchasing histories of the people they intend to contact. Then they knock on their doors."

i too have questions about what it takes to get a FOID card revoked, and who and how it's determined.

maybe someone from Illinois will chime in and clarify things in that state in regards to the FOID card.

I do not believe that felons or people who are a danger to themselves or others do not need to have guns. Any time a cop takes a firearm from a felon, or other prohibited person, it is of benefit to all law abiding gun owners.

All felons? What about non-violent felons?

I think there should, at least, be an annual review of criminal activity vs. responsibility as a basis for the restoration of their second amendment right. Make it an optional program; limit it to longarms; require their firearms be registered and painted yellow; but give them some chance of being a full citizen again.

One of the problems with many repeat offenders is the lack of legal options for employment and, in some cases, housing. If you can't move up, you have better odds of slipping down.

Any law that requires a permission slip to own a firearm then it is not a right, it's a privilege. It's no different than a drivers license.

It's what happens when you choose to live in illinois, calif or any other anti gun state.

Hey, if you have legitimately lost the ability to legally possess a firearm, I guess I have no problem with instructions being issued to turn them in, sell them, or otherwise dispose of them. If you don't do that, or cannot provide proof of it, I guess you are subject to a raid and confiscation.

Now if the reason is debateable, and challangeable, then you should be able to keep your guns until it is finally determined. Not dispossed of them, but in "innocent until proven guilty," able to maintain possession.

Why would a known felon have a gun on the radar? Except for the totally inept any felon would not have a registered gun......traceable to them.
