Do you remember that shortly after the election that the "welfare class" was dancing with joy, and runing around grinning like idiots and yelling hooray, now I don't have to worry about paying my rent, utilities, etc?

There is a (unfortunately large) percentage of "Americans" who are too dumb to think, and who believe that the messiah is here to give them a completely free ride. They poll for whatever Obama says is good for them. They are not even intelligent enough to be called Sheeple.

If you work, if you own a business, if you have property, if you have retrirement savings, then YOU will be the one footing the (huge) bill for this.

Default I just dont understand it

I’ve tried to keep an open mind to this, and understand how this bill is so great. As some people claim. But I just can’t see it. I only see the working tax payer getting shafted more ways than one. Hell, when you think of all the small businesses that are going to have to let people go because they won’t be able to cover their employee’s health care, if their business is over the 50 people strong. Because I seriously doubt that the tax break will cover, what they will have to spend. That alone seems like one hell of a step in the wrong direction.
If you are for this bill then explain it to me, and the others that don’t agree with it.

The only good that I see in the Health Care Bill is to be able to keep your children on your policy until they are 26 years old. On my present policy my daughter, who is 21 now, has to remain a full time student yet still I pay an extra $300 a month to keep her insured. I'm guessing that this cost will also go up dramatically though.

The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.

I have concerns with not only small busness closing up but the insurance companies too! They are in business to make money, if they are forced to cover everyone even those that the gubment will subsidise, they will lose money hand over fist, what incentive will they have to stay in business then? The insurance companies go down will the pharmaceuticals companies survive that? Then what, thats more jobs lost, more gubment bailouts that dont help anyone? Endless spiral of top heavy gubment try to fix itself!! UGLY days ahead my friends. I see NO GOOD coming from this, NONE!!

I see so many saying that Canada has great health care. If so then why have I heard of s many people having long term problems or dieing from lack of medical care.

We have an MRI, CT and many other costly diagnostic equipment in just about every hospital in the country. Canada doesn't I knew a man in canada that lost his son because the MRI he needed to diagnose the brain tumor was backed up for 3 months. Because it was the only one for 400 miles. Here in the states he would have went right to the MRI bumped people that were getting knees of crap like that they would have found the tumor and removed it.

What I have to wonder is why we want people running health care that can't even balance a checkbook. I mean come on balancing the budget is not that hard. You have x amount of dollars to spend you have y amount of money going to things that you have to spend on. x-y=z z= amount of money left over as a surplus from this money you say ok we only want to spend say 50% ok z*.5=q we have q amount of money to spend on projects a through p if I fund a-j and run out of money well k-p tough **** or we take q and divide it equally between a-p my god it is not that dam hard. If your special project of making sure all stores in your state have a whiskey barrel in front for red white and blue flowers doesn't get enough money you need to come up with the rest.

I agree with everything Tango says except I don't believe they ever had a surplus to deal with.

Yep, this is just another "something for nothing" program, as if there weren't enough already. I have worked hard and consistently (with a little blessing here and there) since I was 15 and never had a lapse in insurance.

I've came close to losing it once or twice and had to struggle to keep it and now it's just supposed to be some gift for folks too lazy to work or unwilling to get an education in order to better their lives?

It makes me sick. I put $4.60/hr into a health and welfare fund out of my total wage (not base pay) and have for years. Our hour bank maxes out at 550 hours. It takes 135 hours a month to pay for the coverage, so if you're laid off for over 3 months, you have to buy into a sort of backup plan.

All this and now I'm going to be paying for someone to be insured that might not have even worked a day in their life.

This healthcare bill is going to cost alot of jobs and not just in the everyday jobs, it also has healthcare and personnel working in the insurance companies - those in the insurance will be the average worker bees. I heard this on Rush the other day, they had a insurance worker, in 2 years the private insurance will not be aroun - reason this bill has raised the premium from 65% to 85% causing the tax payer more money and the insurance cannot sustain the payments for medical care. The administration and in the socialist wisdom (laughing so hard - I spit coffee on the monitor), will deem the private insurance companies cannot operate and will dissolve them into a national healthcare system!
