Yea it sucks here too in the People's Republic of New Jersey. The laws they are to issue within 30 days, most towns don't. Its been taken to court and they basically said too bad. I was lucky as I put in for mine Jan 15th and actually got it on Feb 11th, some people are waiting six to nine months. But we have it even worse than most in NJ. If you want a hand gun you also need a permit to purchase (P2P) permit. When you apply for an FID card you can just check a box that you want P2P as well, but if you do it at another time its the exact same process as applying for an FID card - even though you already have one. But wait, it gets worse. The P2P is only valid for 90 days, and we have the OGAM law which says you may only buy one hand gun every 31 days. Add to that, at the time of purchase you must go through "instant" NICS - but NJ has a very strange definition of instant. I just waited 8 days for my instant check to go through, and know of others that are waiting over two weeks. Just imagine what all the left leaning jerks would do if we made them get several sets of permits and wait months before they were allowed to express an opinion in public. I guess not all RIGHTS are created equal.
