NEVER had a doctor ask anything about gun ownership. Knowing my profession, they kind of presume.

No doctor has ever asked me either.

The last time this came up I asked my brother who is a primary care doctor. He doesn't ask this question unless he suspects some mental illness, and then it is a safety of the patient/patients family issue. In 15 years this may have come up 2 or 3 times he said.

I've seen the question before on new patient questionnaires... And left to find a different provider.

Recently had a physical at a new provider and it did not come up.

Tack
