My last visit to the VA I was ask about this and the nurse said "You don't have to answer this, but I have to ask."
I said to put down I have no firearms!
Good for her!
The biggest issue with assembling an AR isn't so much getting the parts together right - it's getting the right parts together.

The last time this came up I asked my brother who is a primary care doctor. He doesn't ask this question unless he suspects some mental illness, and then it is a safety of the patient/patients family issue. In 15 years this may have come up 2 or 3 times he said.
There are several doctors that know I have guns because they are shooters themselves and know me from shows and dinners as well as the range. I have been asked by other doctors and medical facilities and I resent it. It is none of their business.
I've seen the question before on new patient questionnaires... And left to find a different provider.
Recently had a physical at a new provider and it did not come up.
