Can you imagine what kind of violent reaction the feds would have had on their hands if they'd done that s#!t 100 years ago? BATFE agents, had there been any, would have to run and hide to save their a$$es from extermination.

True, though this thread was not intended for that discussion. This thread was meant to be less serious. "A commentary on the commentary." So basically news only...

Iowa Senator Grassley just threw a cherry bomb into the campfire with his letter to the DOJ requesting some highly specific communications between ATF field agents and headquarters and the DOJ immediately prior to the 2/4/11 release of the DOJ's infamous "No Gunwalking" letter to Congress USAG Holder took nine months to repudiate ! For a complete pub of the letter, plus the ATF agent's E-mail to his superiors visit Sipsey Street Irregulars .com

FWIW Y'all might want to consider tossing a couple of buck into Mike's can. MV is one of two citizens - Dave Codrea being the other - that, unaided and often maligned, broke the Operation Fast and Furious story back in December of 2010. Mike is a private citizen blogger and, despite his health issues and several recent hospitalizations has maintained his blog and continued to develop new lines of inquiry. Even the MSM are picking up on Mssrs. Vanderboegh & Codrea 's work and citing them these days !

And, since I've already gone "over the top" praising MV and DC, I might as well state I think these gentlemen deserve Pulitizers for their (unpaid) work ! Woodward and Berstein were lauded for exposing a burglary where no one died. Vanderboegh and Codrea exposed a government gun-smuggling pogrom where at least two U.S. agents were gunned down with those weapons along with over 300 Mexican citizens and an unknown number of U.S. citizens to date; and with the certainty more will follow. >MW

Millright so true. The agents were not supposed to be in that area? They were under orders to not use lethal force. They were armed with "Bean Bags' only. The ivestigation shows the BGs were armed with AKMs provided by the Obama Cartel.

Well jeff babbins is just babbling.....The ability of any president to assert executive privilege is in place to protect "fishing expeditions' into the white house private papers....If this law didn't exist it would diminish the executive branch's ability to keep ALL papers secret of any kind...unless there is proof of a crime....This "fishing expedition" by a out of control committee without any proof anything happened is just hoping something will pop up they can use against the Executive branch to diminish it`s power....

All people have the right to own fire arms.

How they use them... well, that's up to them....... if they're in another country.

It doesnt seem like this particular action is deserving of any special executive privileges. This was a major operation that it would seem should have had the highest level of oversight to even be discussed much less formulated and executed. If it didnt have executive authority, we need to know why and if it did have that level of support, we need an explanation as to how it got so out of control.

Want proof that something happened, read the papers. Dead Mexicans and American Border patrol Agents certainly is something happening and the proof that our Federal Government conducted the thing is indisputable.

If neither Holder nor Obama had any part in this, why didnt they? Anything like this that can and has caused an International tragedy should have had the highest levels of scrutiny.

Its ridiculous to think that hiding truth is a good thing in this case that has dead people in its wake. We have seen 100 million spent in the last couple years investigating Pizza Barons, Senators that wag their weenies in Airports and even one that cheated on his dying wife, why is this not getting a third of that attention?

Think of this Irony, Our President is sitting back and waiting to support a UN small arms treaty that he will support taking our rights to own weapons and giving control of that to the new world order yet his administration and likely himself authorized selling Arms and bullets to drug lords in Mexico. The vision is enough to make one sick, the facts were plenty enough to make many dead.

Those that seek these documents are cleared to see redacted documents of the highest level. They have been trying to answer questions to their voters as to how and why this happened, they and we have a right to know. Executive Privilege should never ever trump a murder investigation especially when it involves a cast of characters like this one.
