Default Did Lifting Gun Ban Lower Crime Rates in D.C. & Chicago?

Good positive story that kind of counters the "THERE WILL BE BLOOD IN THE STREETS" argument by the libtards...

I like how nobody stops to "smell the roses", so to speak, and notice that there's blood in the streets right now. It's the blood of all the innocent bystanders and victims of criminal assaults. We can't have the victims defending themselves from violent criminals, nah, that would fly in the face of our protection racket.

When oh when will our women and children be at least as important as our politicians and monopoly money?

What makes the police and military so special that they rate the kind of protection that we're unwilling to afford to our women and children?

If the Left Wing had no victims they would have to close the store. They are so desperate for new victims that they are making 12 million illegals citizens.

They always predict "It'll be just like the Wild West!"

I guess the Wild West they are talking about was the one with

all the responsible LACs who used the gun as a tool to feed

and defend themselves. They policed themselves, and mostly

led quiet, productive, short, difficult lives, outrageous stories

notwithstanding.

But there was a press which exaggerated circumstances back then, too.

Aw, crap, there goes the Auto-Inflation Blood Pressure Wrist Monitor:

"Your Blood Pressure is 270 over 245. Your pulse is 158...

therewolf, Your analogy of our future is closer than you may expect. In studying the real old west conflicts there were bands of Mexicans looting early travelers. Poor Mexicans without firearms roamed the frontier looting wagon trains. They were armed with spears, bows and knives. These bands attacked travelers on the Oregon Trail. Mexico short on lead supplied copper musket balls to the Indians.

It's very unlikely the CCW law coming to Chicago will have any effect on crime in the inner city. What happens there is bangers shooting bangers and innocents getting in the way. What will most likely happen is that some robberies may be thwarted, some muggings may be stopped and if the ladies decide to carry, they just may prevent sexual assault. However, when crime is prevented....there are no headlines, no stories in the liberal media. And that's for two reasons: they only care about gun stories which further their agenda, and crime prevention is rarely newsworthy.

The CCW law should be able to reduce crime in the inner city. Statistics show that inner city minorities experience the largest reductions in violent crime after CCW. But that only works out if the inner city minority LACs can AFFORD a CCW permit.

Leave it to Illinois' politicians to pass a law making CCW virtually unaffordable and mostly worthless. The list of places you CAN'T carry is so comprehensive that there is almost no point in getting the permit.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

But it's a step in the right direction.

Florida had a mish-mosh of crappy

local laws, too, but we got it worked out.

Illinois has to straighten out it's laws, too.

Once those of us,who carry our gun with our money,

are allowed to travel to Illinois, they may get more tourist

trade, also.

Take a new person shooting. That's a

step in the right direction.

I'm getting mine just because I can.

Current law in Illinois has no reciprocity statute. Just a statement allowing nonresident permit application. But only for people from States with CCW laws substantially like Illinois. And $300 application fee + cost of classes.
