God gave us free will so that we may freely choose to worship Him if we choose to do so.

It's irrelevant whether they believe or not. They still have these rights.

I was raised Lutheran and have since slipped over to Agnostic with a bit of Deism tossed in.

So here is my answer: My Rights come from the bare fact that I am a sentient life form. There is no need for any other justification for my freedom and my rights other then they are mine and I will fight to keep them. I do not need a Higher Power to grant those rights since someone or something granting me my rights implies that they may be taken from me. The tyrants of the world know that Free Men can not be conquered, the most they can do is kill us.

Well, if a person chooses not to believe he had any parents, does that mean he was created out of thin air?
