Labor Day Wild Fire Relief Fund
Contribute to Texas State Rifle Association Members Impacted by Last Weekend's Deadly Fires
Because of months of severe drought and high winds, wildfires have spread quickly, especially over the Labor Day weekend. In areas around Bastrop, Spicewood, Lake Travis, Leander and many other Central Texas sites, the devastation continues.
At Bastrop State Park, all but 100 acres of the 6,000-acre park were charred. The Bastrop fire has destroyed nearly 900 houses and, at the time of this release, was only about a third contained. The fires have not been limited to Central Texas, either. In 2011, Texas has been hit by fires that have burned an area the size of Connecticut!
No doubt, many Texas State Rifle Association (TSRA) members have been severely impacted by these fires, and the non-profit organization would like to do something to show support for its members -- at a time when they need it most.! Therefore, it has established a TSRA Member Relief Fund to which fellow members can contribute and provide much needed supplies and support.
Anyone who would like to contribute should send a check or money order to: Texas State Rifle Association, Attn: TSRA Member Relief Fund, 314 E. Highland Mall Blvd., Suite 300, Austin, TX 78752. Any amount will help! It gives you, the TSRA member, an opportunity to extend your kindness to those who believe as you do about the Second Amendment, firearm rights and the shooting sports.
TSRA members who lost their homes will be identified, and an offer of support will go out to them -however big or small -simply to help them and their families back on their feet.
If you are or know of a TSRA member impacted by these 2011 fires, please send an email with member name and email address to email@example.com
-- so arrangements can be made to assist the member any way that TSRA can -whether it be through supplies, member in-kind services or direct financial assistance;
TSRA would like to help!
As victims go about trying to rebuild their homes and communities from these unfortunate tragedies, a TSRA contribution shows members that this is an organization that cares for its own.
THANKS for your support!
