HB0154 would allow concealed or open carry on a "shall issue" basis. That's one piece of legislation Illinois residents should support. Currently referred to the Rules Committee which is 3 Demos and 2 Repubs. Don't know enough about Illinois politics to know whether Rules Committee is where they send bills do die. If so, Illinois residents should be petitioning to have the bill removed from that Committee and placed before the General Assembly.

Well it's not gaining much steam but the court ruled they have to do it. So unless it gets overturned in an appeal the courts will make them enact it. The court said 180 days! No Ifs,ands or buts!

This is a Land Mark decision in gun politics. All gun owners in the U.S. should support our fellow gun owners in Illinois. The good members living in that state have been abused by a criminal system from Cook Co.
This is the same syndicate that now controls the entire United States.

Frightening to consider that there are bills in Congress right now to repeal 22A (two term limit)...

We have a bill that was recently introduced by our local deligate from the NRA it's HB0997 if I remember right. It was posted on 1-29-13 and as of about noon yesterday had already garnered about 15 co sponsors.

All bills in Illinois have to pass through the rules committee, this is normal procedure.

That's good to know. Looks like there are at least 2 bills in the Rules Committee now. Perhaps HB0154 was last years attempt to pass the same bill and this year it has acquired a different number. I don't know enough about how Illinois manages bills. Just looking at the brief summary, they both look like the same basic content. Some small differences in the time allowed for the ISP to approve, etc. Sounds like y'all should be pushing for HB0997.

You can usually find your representatives contact information with Google. Get the contact info. Send an e-mail. Send a letter. Call their office. Repeatedly. Express your opinion especially with representatives that are likely to be anti-gun. They work for YOU!
