Welcome to the fight Tommy!! Here is a link to the New York State Assembly, find the rep(s) for your district and there will be links to e-mails, etc. Send the well written letters telling them NOT to support any such legislation, also include the Governor. If you have like minded friends, have them also send letters, e-mails etc. The more voices heard the better.
You could also PM BKT for some assistance, he is a NYer and probably has his reps on speed-dial! good luck!

It's most likely a lost cause in NY but that does not mean you should keep quite. As for how to go about getting your voice heard the NRA and GOA are good organizations to start with. Both will put you in direct contact with your local, state and federal reps. As many of us here do we regularly email or send letters to our reps stating our positions on many of the issues that directly affect us.
If you don't speak up, you will never be heard.

Remember folks, there is still room for you and your magazines down here in the Dirty South. Skeeters need love too.

Yeah, you need to watch that. Mags are treated separately from firearms but they have similar restrictions. If memory serves, no mag that holds more than 10 rounds made after Sep. '94 is legal. But a mag with absolutely no markings on it made of material that was used for mags before then are considered legal. Sometimes, there are markings stamped on the inside, so push the follower down and use a flashlight to check all four sides inside to be safe.
