Default That's right StalkingBear, everybody is out to get you and me too!

You/We as American citizens excersizing our 2nd amendment rights have to be pro-active. I've been involved in 2nd amendment issues for 30 years and it always seems that just when you thought it was safe the people who think firearms have no place in our society come up with some other "In the back door Scheme". These people never give up, they don't sleep and niether can we. So call your Reps. Talk to your people, try to calmly and courteously convert/educate the ignorant. Freedom requires constant vigilance my friends.
A'dios for now

Let's face it, since the EPA got smacked for trying to essentially make lead ammo HAZMAT, you had to know someone would attempt the same thing legislatively. As I recall, the only thing that stopped the EPA was a bureaucratic turf issue. We are at a dangerous time right now. It will be worse after Nov 3 with an angry bunch of lame duck liberals.

To overkill0084; That is an excellent quote from Ayn Rand. I'm not familiar with who she is but thhat quotation is right on the money! The purpose of rights are to protect the Minority. I've never heard the purpose of "Rights" expressed that way. Very Good!

I wouldn't bet on this being a deterrent... When they required RVSM on aircraft, the military aircraft were exempt. They still don't have to meet the same requirements nor the same licensing as the civilian requirements.

RVSM put the aircraft closer together a few years ago by adding some expensive equipment to make sure their altitude equipment was not in error. This moved aircraft from 2000 feet vertical seperation to 1000 feet. There are no exemptions except for military who don't have to meet the same requirements. It only takes one to not be where it is supposed to be.

They can outlaw the ammo and still allow the military to use it.

Hijack warning:
Ayn Rand - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If you want some insight into the liberal/socialist mind, read Atlas Shrugged. Apparently our current administration is trying to reenact it. It is actually sort of unsettling to read it in this day in age if you follow the news. It is set in the early 50s, but she really nails it in some areas. However, she has a anti-religious streak as well, which some will find off-putting.
It also takes about 350 pages to get going, not for those with short attention spans.
Please resume your normally scheduled thread.

The initial attempt was through the rulemaking process in the EPA and it didn't even make it through the alloted comment period due to fierce opposition....In essence the BHO administration would not even endorse it. It smacks of election year antics. I guess the inner city guy is trying to shore up his base while adding to the DEMS problems. I hope the vote on this comes next year after the fresh meat has arrived.

That's been the story in Canada, anyway.

I am a recent member and certainly not here to tell Americans what to do in the U.S. It seems to me, though, that since we are up against a determined and international opponent, it would be helpful to share information.

Gun grabbers are coordinated and funded. They mean to have our guns, alright. It won't be a sudden, outright ban. It will be done incrementally, by making gun ownership more and more difficult and restricted to a point where (they hope) the last gun owners who remain standing will not have enough voice to resist.

IANSA is an umbrella organization. It is, or has been, funded by George Soros. Here's their model law (url broken to avoid tracking):

http://w ww.iansa.org/documents/documents/ModelLaw.pdf

They advance their cause under many guises - safety, crime, violence, suicide prevention, environmental claims,.....

Gun Control is not about guns. It's about Control. These people mean well and therefore they pursue their fascist agenda with a clear conscience. I've never figured how to react to all that - other than drawing a hard line. Maybe I can learn something here that can help in our efforts in Canada.

Thanks.

What a bunch of Crap ! Like it was said in earlier posts, it's just an excuse to get rid of guns alltogether. There's too much money involved in it and it will not happen. Other countries buy a lot of ammo from the US. I don't think they would like to spend more money on something less effective either. It would pretty much become a UN issue because of the anti-pollution/clean air policies of the world. This is too extreme and I doubt it will happen. The only other substance that acts as lead does is silver or mercury. Mercury is more toxic and silver too expensive ! Even currently the so-called "clean" ammo that's available, doesn't perform up to par. The NRA will never let this happen ! Heck, every hunter should be dead from lead poisoning ! A-Holes !

Yes, it is. But a great many elitist liberals and their sheeple believe it. You and I say it is a turd. They are convinced it is a lumpy chocolate bar.

We need to be paying attention and learning who these people are and what they really want. They are serious and they work at it. We need to do the same.

I listen to talk radio constantly ! I have blisters on my finger tips from writing so many letters to politicians over 2nd Amendment matters. I talk to as many people as I can to educate them and get them to write to their representatives . It's a long road I just hope those I educate, act on the matter. I know I do, but im only one person. Like you said we 'ALL" have to get involved, there is stregnth in numbers !
