I have no problem with open carry where it is legal. I cc simply because I like the element of surprise. I have been to one open carry rally. I carried my 1911. I feel these rallies are important. The more people realize that we are normal people and not a bunch of crazies the better. But I like organized events. Not big on Bubba carrying his AR through the mall. While it may not be illegal. I feel like it does scare uninformed people a lot more than a handgun does.

I checked out there Facebook page and decided to attend the second event.

The most striking thing I noticed was the absolute lack of bravado by anyone and the complete lack of LEO presence... did not see a single Cop despite the coffee shop sharing a parking lot with a very busy 24 HR Fitness.

All were Friendly and the Hilight was getting to meet Sherrif Mack who I was very surprised to see at such a small event.

I will admit that exiting my truck to stroll across the parking lot with a Kimber strapped to my right hip and a dual mag pouch on the left was an interesting feeling despite 17 of concealed EDC.

Not being an "activist" at heart, I don't think I'll be strolling about OC style with a camera... Not my cup of tea... But I've gained a new respect for those who do.

When many jurisdictions who were against CC saw it was not a problem and did not manifest into the 'old west gunfight' they made it legal.
Bingo... And even better than expanding 2A rights is the humiliation suffered by the Pelosi's, Schumers, and Reed's of the world when there International puppet masters look down there noses at all of us American Cowboys saying Eff U to there the European Socialist agenda by strolling through San Franciso, Manhattern, and Flagstaff with 1911's on our hips.

I'm sorry but I'm all for OC.When someone can give me some valid factual statistics in an instance where a bad guy has overtaken a good guy successfully by removing the weapon from an OC'er then I'll have a different view. But I've never heard of that happening. Majority of people who see someone with a gun walking around are NOT going to mess with you. I'm aware of my surroundings at all times. Very very cautious anymore simply because I don't trust anyone. People need to get a reverse effect on seeing a firearm in the open that is not a police officer. Personally I'd rather carry concealed, but I think those who have to option and wish to carry open should and would more than likely not get messed with other than by police.

"Comming "Out of the Closet is liberating!"

While I applaud your bravery, this isn't a topic we generally discuss here.

Its all about challenging social norms and though challenge desensitizing the public and in so doing change the social norms.

I applaud all who do!!

I make my living with my security clearance and even a false arrest is still something I have to explain to Big Brother on my form 73.. so I would never OC on my own.

But i might at a rally.
